Artist Trading Cards

ATC stands for Artist Trading Card. ACEO stands for Artist Card Editions and Originals.   The difference lies in whether the cards are traded or sold.  Nancy makes a variety of each and offers them periodically for trade and sale at www.bid4bears.com

Artist trading cards were developed as an out-cropping of older sports collectible cards. Each one is a miniature work of art designed and created by a single person.  A little bit of the soul of the creator is included in each card.  Cards can be made with a multitude of materials and often include original artwork as well as photos of the bears that Nancy creates.

As the popularity of the trading cards was established, so were several rules that govern their creation and distribution.

  1. ATC must be 2.5 X 3.5 inches in size. (68 X 89 mm) This size is derived from other trading cards and is a standard in the industry.

  2. ATC cards are traded, and should not be sold. ACEO cards can be sold.

  3. The back of the card should contain the contact information for the artist including his/her name, contact info and the name of the card itself. If it is a numbered edition it should also have the card number on the back.
