ABOUT ME Hello, and thank you for visiting my site. I'm Nancy Tillberg, the artist behind the creations that you see on these pages. I've been creating since I was old enough to hold a pencil and work with a pair of scissors. At the age of three, I artfully cut all the leaves off of my mothers favourite palm tree plant. She must have known that she'd never be able to take the 'creative' out of me, since she never took the scissors away, even after I decimated her house plant. When I'm not spending time in the studio, I lead a busy life as a wife, mother of two and full time police officer working in Forensics. I hold a psychology degree from the University of Windsor and Certificate in Web Design from Confederation College. I also teach workshop both online and in person and have had the honor of appearing on National television with my teddy bears. I've also authoured two books on teddy bear making, and now teach these skills online at the EbearZ University. MY IMAGINATION I believe that the right side of my brain must be hyper active. I am constantly in a creative state, becoming inspired by things that I see around me. I loved to make crafts and sew doll clothes. As a teen, my passions turned to sketching and writing. In my adult life, Teddy Bear Making has been one of my greatest joys. My studio is filled with sumptuous mohairs and old fur coats, waiting to be turned into loveable little creatures. Most recently, I've also started creating dolls, and I am an avid photographer. I incorporate my photography into my dolls and this further led to an interest in Silver Metal Clay a product made from recylced photographic film. Each new medium gives me an additional process in the toolbox for creating an ever more beautiful life. Can you ever have too many tools for that? |
