Sugar Bunny Next Class Begins March 12, 2012

Just in time for Easter!  Won't you join us in making this adorable Sugar Bunny... as a sign of Spring?

Sugar bunny measures 8 inches from the tip of her nose to the back of her tail. She has 4 joints wired ears and a cute little embroidered nose. We'll cover eyelids, glass eyes and some of the techniqes of working with real fur. You can make your bunny from an old coat (genuine fur) or you can make her in mohair or synthetic plush.  This class is suitable for all abilities of stuffie maker, providing you have strong sewing skills.

The class includes a full size pattern, plenty of photos, videos for the tricky parts, step by step instructions and access to the Agora so that you can converse with your teacher.

Supply List for the pair:
  • 1/4 yard fur. You can probably get away with 1/8th yard, but get extra to be sure. You might want to make more than one!  If you are using real fur I recommend rabbit, mink, or muskrat. Fox will work for the tail. You can also use a bit of a contrast color if you like for the muzzle.
  • 1 piece8" X 5" square tan wool felt for the ears and paws
  • 2 sets of 1/2 inch disc joint for the front paws
  • 2 sets of 1 inch disc joints for the back hips
  • 1 pairs of 10 or 12 mm glass eyes on a wire or loop
  • Pencil crayons in pink, grey and brown or Soft pastels for shading
  • Polyfil fibre for stuffing
  • Pink perle cotton for the nose
  • 1/4 meter of cotton muslin and a glue stick if you're using real fur

The tools required for this course are:

  • Small sharp scissors
  • A good pair of hemostats or jewelers needle nose pliers
  • Small long nose pliers
  • Gel pen or pencil for tracing the pattern
  • A fabric marker for the spots on the muzzle (Copic Marker)
  • Fray check (optional)
  • Tacky glue
  • A basic sewing kit including needles of different lengths and threads
